ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

28 Years in Technology. One Simple Goal: Make Senior Technology Leadership Accessible.

Chris, founder of Catalyst Technology Partners

A Message from Our Founder

After 28 years working in the IT and technology industry, I created Catalyst Technology Partners because I kept seeing the same challenge across businesses of very different sizes and sectors.

Throughout my career, I have worked across multiple industries and environments — from start-ups and rapidly growing businesses to established organisations going through significant transformation. I have seen businesses scale at pace, worked through periods of major change and helped organisations modernise technology while keeping day-to-day operations running.

One thing has become increasingly clear: many businesses do not lack ambition — they lack a clear technology strategy to support it.

Business owners and leadership teams quite rightly want to focus on winning customers, increasing sales, developing people and growing the business. They should not need to become experts in cloud infrastructure, cyber security, data architecture, AI or business systems.

My aim is to give leadership teams access to the type of senior technology leadership and strategic thinking that would normally require employing a full-time CTO, but in a flexible and commercially sensible way.

You focus on growing your business. We will make sure your technology is ready to grow with you.

THE STORY BEHIND CATALYST

Local Roots. Strategic Impact.

The name and identity of Catalyst Technology Partners have a personal connection to Widnes in the North West of England.

Why Catalyst?

A catalyst is something that creates or accelerates change. That represents what we want to do for the businesses we work with: turn ideas into action, accelerate transformation and use technology as a catalyst for growth.

The name also reflects Widnes and its industrial heritage. The town played an important role in Britain’s chemical and industrial development, while today the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre and Museum preserves that legacy of science, innovation and technological progress.

Bridging the Gap

The C in our identity represents Catalyst, while the bridge reflects the Mersey Gateway Bridge connecting Widnes and Runcorn across the River Mersey.

The bridge also represents our role: bridging the gap between business ambition and technology strategy, translating what leaders want to achieve into clear, practical technology decisions.

Catalyst — creating change.
Technology — enabling growth.
The bridge — connecting business ambition with technology strategy.
